View Full Version : My First Covers Antistatic 05-15-2007, 11:42 PM Here are my first covers. SilentWarrior 05-16-2007, 12:01 AM Are these your first covers ever? If so I am am impressed because they are actually quite good:thumbup: In the 2046 cover I like how you have the strip running across from front to back. Personally I wouldn't have anything covering it at the back (currently the stat box and credits go over the strip), but thats personal preference. Nice work on all three.... and could you possibly enlarge the previews so that we can see them better? Thanks;) gravital 05-16-2007, 06:41 AM From the previews they look to be quite good. peruchazo 05-16-2007, 03:22 PM Damn that's nice work! Keep it up. nonini 05-16-2007, 04:38 PM Your first covers look good Antistatic  Cheers nonini :) ulookingatme 05-16-2007, 05:54 PM WOW there great especially if your first effort  Like SW says the strip on the 2046 cover doesnt need any text covering it, it spoils it a little :) The other 2 look spot on, but a closer look would be great and needed for true advice/opinion :D Antistatic 05-16-2007, 08:57 PM Thanks for feedback, I appreciated SW Is my firts covers ...I needed the covers from Asia movies. That is the result (I have others finished and others in progress ) enlarge done Ps: sorry my English J0nn0 05-16-2007, 09:25 PM Nice work, tho' i don't like the bar-code on 2046.I think if you are gonna put a bar-code on a cover you should at least make it look real,by changing the digits from all zero's.Just my opionion. boneapart 05-16-2007, 10:15 PM I guess it's all been said, but I have to agree that for your first covers, these are great. gravital 05-16-2007, 10:23 PM Got some feedback on your covers. They are quite picky and as is your covers are great. These are just some suggestions to improve upon what you have all ready done. 2046 Apart from the barcode 0s, there are some more things that I noticed. Credits: They are on top of the pic strip that travels from front to back. There is space for you to move these up. This way you do not have to cover it up. I really did not mind the lower portion being covered. It seemed to fit. However, in moving those credit that may not be the casse. There may be some needed reorganization of the logos to take them off of the pic strip as well. Color consistancy: I noticed that "A Film by Wong Kar Wai" looks to be in white while the other text appears to be an off white. It just stands out. I think that it may look better if all text was of the same color. Green Tint on the pic strip: As I have not seen this am not sure if that is the actual color of the film. It looks as though there is just too much green tinted on the images. You may want to adjust if the film is more like the main image on the reverse. A Battle of Wits Noticed 2 things on this. Title: it seems to be slightly squashed. I am not sure if that is the actual title or not. If it is no prob. If it is not you may want to alter the font to stretch it out some more. Torn edge border: The border for the spanning image may look better if you drop a burn on the edge. As right now it seems to have a bevel on it. The Host The only issue that I noticed is the blank area on the revers side. If you do not fill that with special features, you may want to pull the synopsis down to balance it out. Like I said these are very picky and you all ready have some great looking covers. I am just offering the same advice that I would expect from other members when it comes to my covers. Antistatic 05-16-2007, 11:06 PM That's not a problem. Feedback is fine:thumbup: Thanks a lot for the advice it is possible to give to opinion on others covers? gravital 05-17-2007, 04:14 AM That's not a problem. Feedback is fine:thumbup: Thanks a lot for the advice it is possible to give to opinion on others covers? Not quite sure what is meant by that last question. If you are asking if it is okay for you to give advice, the answer is yes. We encourage members to do so. It is part of our growth and anyone that can not take the criticism should not be doing this type of art, or any art for that matter. :omg: Just make sure that if your opinion is given it is given constructively. I am not saying that you have to sugar-coat everything. I simply mean... If you say that you do not like something about another members work give a reason as to why you dislike it. The same goes for compliments :D Antistatic 05-17-2007, 11:41 PM Gravital my question it about my others covers gravital 05-18-2007, 02:37 AM Got ya. You want some feedback on another set of covers. I did not see your "II" post. I will take a look now. |
