14th February 2007 ? Play.com, have today confirmed their strategy for the launch of Sony?s PlayStation? 3 (PS3) with one clear message ?We will deliver!?

Following the shortage of stock at the launch of both Micorsoft?s Xbox? 360 and Nintendo?s Wii?, Play.com wanted to ensure that their valued customers were not left disappointed, especially when stock shortages are widely expected at launch of the PS3 at the end of March.

Play.com are offering free delivery and have a special bundle deal including three launch titles; the highly acclaimed MotorStorm?, Resistance: Fall of Man? and Genji?. The whole package is just ?524.99 and is available to pre-order immediately.

Commenting on the strategy, Head of the games Gian Luzio explained:

?We have seen an overwhelming number of pre-orders for the PlayStation 3 over the past few months, without Play actively marketing the product. It is clearly going to be a huge launch and we wanted to ensure that we could meet demand.

We received strong levels of pre-orders on launch of the last two consoles, however due to market-wide stock shortages we were unable to fulfil these orders on day one? added Luzio ?We know that this disappointed some of our customers and we wanted to ensure that we did not face the same situation again. We have been working hard with Sony to make sure that we can deliver every pre-order on the release date , We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the service they expect from Play.com?

Anyone from europe pre-ordered a PS3?

Let's hope they can achieve what they are saying they can.I for one will be sticking with my Xbox 360 as i dont feel the PS3 will be worth all the money and hype.
