i have just started to make my dvd collection....i have about 2000 vhs and i am trying to down size for space reasons and i need to find covers to fit these....we are movie buffs and the kids love these.......but i can't figure out how to burn these and how to burn a label onto dvd instead of gluing one........i know i am trying to do too many things all at once........and i am not artistically inclined so i can not make my own designs..........do you have a list of what you have

You don't glue a label. They're like stickers. They stick on. Just give a list. You can request 5 titles per day, just make sure you include the IMDB like to it.

You can buy printable DVDs - then you can print the labelpicture right onto the DVD. All you need is a printer fx Canon PiXma MP600 that prints on discs.

Stay away from the sticker version labels. They tend to bubble and peel over time.

Eh, it just depends on how they are applied. If you use that label press thing where you push down, that is a no-no. I apply the labels by hand. I don't have a problem with them. But the lifespan on a DVD-/+R isn't that long. A bunch of TV Shows I recorded 5 years ago are just going to s***.

I have written a number of articles on this over the years DO NOT USE STICKY LABELS ON DVD's.........
I will not bore the ass off you with technical chit-chat.......but, look at it this way:
When, you next put a "prettily stickered dvd" into your gleamingly brand new DVD player it will play perfectly well (in some cases)......but! DVD readable media is manufactured to the highest technical specifications which consists of two thinly embedded organic dye films for data storage separated by a spacer layer. Heating with a focused laser beam irreversibly modifies the physical and chemical structure of each layer such that the modified areas have different optical properties to those of their unmodified surroundings. This causes a variation in reflectivity as the disc rotates to provide a read-out signal as with commercially pressed read-only discs.
If you combine that little tech-spec with BALANCED WEIGHT and MAX REVOLUTIONS specifications of that little plastic disc thingy..........STICKING LABELS ON EM "BUGGERS THEM UP".....
Not, only that, because of the high speed disc rotation and the heat generated within the player itself aerosols are produced from the adhesive which the "pretty sticky label manufactures" use.......these aerosols fly around your gleamingly brand new DVD player and BUGGERS THAT UP AS WELL......
So, if your going to ask me why they sell "pretty sticky labels" its so people like your good self for instance will make them all a lot of money:thumbup:

Now you now why the life span of your DVD is not very long..............

What about those Plastic Printable Labels? I don't think that would affect the disc, would it?
