Hey Guys, it's my first cover. Tell me what you think.

I have an alternate cover thought up, but I wanted to get feedback on this one first.

Just a quick note for now (if you knew me, you would know why that is an oddity). Interesting take making the front sideways.

Looks very good m8 but seen as it's your first I'd like to see it at full res :)
Can you post it full size as an attachment please.

Sure. Here you go. I changed some of the font colouring around with the description text as I didn't like how they sat.

I used one of the frames uploaded unto the site as my starting point. I'm really excited about using some of the resources on DVD CF but I'm even more geared up for doing custom cover of my own.

EDIT: I just realized! I never put a UPC bar code on it! D'oh!

Nice m8.

Are the spine and front DVD logos text or normal layers they look a bit jagged.
The legal text has an a where there should be a symbol. This can be sorted with the Mr Toad font 'letter d' is the correct symbol.
Along from that the DVD logo needs replacing and the big space between displaying and these looks weird try to get that sorted.
I'd reco dropping the opacity about 20% or so on the spaceship pic underneath the synopsis. Maybe also reduce the tracking of the synopsis so there's no lines with just two words on.

When I think back to my first couple of covers I cringe, if this was one of mine I'd be chuffed to bits m8.

The DVD logos on the front and spine are normal layers not text. I don't know why these came out jagged.

Just two questions: how do I reduce the tracking on text in Photoshop and where can I find the Mr Toad font online as I'm coming up blank on that one?

Mr Toad font is here (http://www.dvdcoversfuzion.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4671)

This is where the tracking is adjusted - see thumbnail.

Fixed the DVD logo(I hope) the Gunstar image and the tracking. However when I tried to use the Mr Toad link I got:

You need to be in one of the other user groups to have access to that forum. I have attached it here for a short while as well.

Nice job! Something new and exciting...though I think the green text is hard to read over the gunstar picture.

Looking good mate great first effort and way better then my first

Just a few minor recos for you,

The Universal logos on the front and spine seem a bit low-res, where they on the poster already?
If not grab a new one from the tools-of-the-trade forum :)

The legals under the TT seem a bit jagged also, have you got anti-alias on?

Also the TT doesnt seem to sit center of the cover, it looks a little to the right :)

I would also reco keeping the cover inside the frame, just the parts of the road that overlap could just be cloned out/blacked out so it keeps within the frame work.

Ive uploaded another poster, there maybe some parts you may want to use but if not theres no worries as you seem to have this almost completed anyway

Good work mate :D

Hey all, just wanted to let you all know I'm about to post the cover up in the gallery. Here's the preview cover for the final cover. I'm not going to bother with a barcode on the back unless someone requests it.

Thanks for all your help, everyone. I'm glad finally that the very first cover I ever started work on is done and dusted.
