This is a template for those who prefer a flat preview instead of the 3D look that program such as imandix can achieve. Below are the instruction to make use of this template.
- Unzip the file and open with Photoshop.
- Open up the full size .jpg cover in photoshop.
- Lower the size of the .jpg to 1125 (width) x 755 (height)
- Cut out the front using the marquee tool. Use the spine guides to be accurate.
- Switch to the template you opened first and paste the front that you just cut out into the 'front' folder just above the 'front overlay' layer.
- Rinse and repeat with the spine and back.
Reflection
- To achieve the reflection select all layers and make a duplicate.
- Merge the duplicate layers together
- Flip the duplicate image vertically
- Push it down approx 8 pixels or until you reach the guide provided.
- While the duplicate is selected, click the 'apple layer mask' button located at the bottom of the layer palette.
- Select the gradient tool (G), make sure the colour palette is black (foreground) and white (background).
- On the 2 guide at the bottom, begin by pulling the gradient line from the bottom guide to the guide just above it. This should create a fade effect is done correctly.
- Then lower the opacity of the reflection layer to 50%.
