Plus James Cameron also stated T2 was his last terminator and true to his word t3 was done by Janothan Mostow.....Can't see cameron coming back for the 4th when he didn't do the third...Plus rumour had it that The Rock was replacing Arnie, as the big man himself said The Rock is perfect for the role and reminded him of himself when he first made the original Terminator film....

Ain't It Cool News have got the details up about it. The people who owned the rights to Terminator have sold them and the new owners are going for a fourth. Supposedly going to be no Arnie though.

"Their reign will begin with TERMINATOR 4 (tentatively set for Summer 2009), built around the previously announced screenplay by John Brancato and Michael Ferris. The script is said to center on a 30-something John Connor leading rag tag fugitive humans against the machines in our ?future?."

Here's the problem...T1 and T2 were both groundbreaking movies in their own right....the Third...eh..kept with the storyline...but there was really nothing special there. It should be left a trilogy.....Once you go on to making a number 4 usually it tends to start to suck....Like look at the new Die Hard Movie......the 4th movie and now it's getting a PG13 rating..I mean come on....T4, what, going to be rated G and animated!?!? Don't screw with a good thing...leave it be.

Have to agree with that, the only decent fourth installment I can think of in a francise is Rocky IV, I know it's a typical 80's movie with no real plot, and yes it's like watching a long music video, but it's still awesome. I actually liked Terminator 3, though I agree it should have ended there.

I'll bet Arnold or a Arnold lookalike T-whatever will drop yet another legendary quote like;

-"I'll be right back i just gonna open that T3007.5 with a liquid-nuclear-reactor powered-screwdriver-for-a-hand 's head"

Well, Christian Bale playing John Connor is the newest report. I don't like Eddie Furlung, he seems like an ass to me. I wouldn't mind Nick Stahl returning though. Apparently Jonathan Mostow who directed T3 left as a director and that McG who directed Charlie's Angels 1 and 2 and We Are Marshall is going to be directing it.

Call me nuts but I really like Christian Bale's ability to act. I cannotthink of anything that he has been in that I did not like.

The Machinist, especially. I mean that takes skill to loose all that weight. I applaud him for that.

He looks physically terrible in the machinist (albeit performs well), but I think he's a great actor and would fulfill the role quite well.

I was in awe at The Machinest. I was trying to figure out if that was done with some SFX because I never heard of his drastic lose of weight.

I can not see how they could have faked that. So I am taking for real.

I just hope it's better than T3. But I really think they stepped it up a notch adding Christian Bale. With McG directing we should be in for a very action packed slug fest. Count me in!

Well, he did do both Charlie's Angels movies so it might be good. It just all depends on the quality of the script.
