lol great job you two amazing when you get similar designs turn up it just means before i post my vote gotta inspect very closely the legal / credits area before i cast my vote lol...

i think the winner is gonna be the one with less mistakes as the designs are very alike....

edit:-

Ok guys after looking at retail cover the front are similar to retail

but my votes comes down to and this may seem funny the barcode!!!!

the orange cover has the correct barcode
the blue cover has a barcode for well doesn't exist lol (which isn't a bad thing in this case)

the legal area on the orange cover has exact details as the retail but there seems to be some spacing issues on the blue entry.

don't like the dvd logo in the middle on the orange cover but there seems to be a white line just to the edge of Denise Richards hair next to spine on the front in the blue version...

so i voted entry 2 but seriously there is really nothing between these covers.
but was really the incorrect barcode that did it for me...

but wouldn't it be the icing on the cake if both score the same amount of votes each lol

Almost everything comes down to personal taste here, the font the color etc.
For me only one thing is very different in this two covers: The approach at the screenshots on the back. Number 1 does a great job here, while Number 2... lets say... takes the easy way out. Not that it looks bad, but in such a close decision I must take the work Number 1 put into such details into consideration. The barcode is more of a minor deatil to be. So my vote goes to Number 1.

Close voting indeed.

Finding artwork for this DVD was very difficult which has resulted in the likeness between the 2 covers.

Just to say that the blue barcode is recognised, however its for the film 'The Dark'

Still a tough choice :omg:

How do you guys know where the barcodes come from? Can you search them somewhere?

I catalogue all my DVD's using DVD Profiler http://www.invelos.com/

So i just enter the barcode and the film shows up :)

You can help get artwork for a mini challenge in the future by using the art request section. I watch this most times.

I noticed that both covers used the WB template, was this the right studio?

I checked every website I could think of that would have artwork for movies, even the ones I pay to be a member of...only 1 of them had any decent artwork on offer.

But if you know of somewhere/someone that has artwork for this movie...please let me know.

yeah, this is pretty much a useless challenge.. lol I didnt know pople were so keen on legit barcodes, I will start using real barcodes for now on... I just thought, since its a custom piece of art, and the barcode will never be used anyhow, it really wouldn't matter... But I do see you point as well, if you gonna make a custom piece of art, at least use the real barcode...

it's not that many people are keen on barcodes infact quite alot of people dislike them.... but like ulookingatme when i use a barcode i make sure it's the right one as i use movie collectors storage data base which is very similar to dvd profiler...
sometimes i forget to add em after i've done a custom or using someone else's custom if there's a barcode i like it to be correct otherwise i end searching for the code online as i've put original cover away in storage.

not done it recnetly lol as i been inputting the titles as i get em but you get what i mean.....

I never use barcodes for my cstms... It's really just personal taste - but I find them to be an eye-sore.... However I find that if you put something on your cstm cover - it should be correct.

Oh, btw I voted... :)

I tend to like #1 as the orange & yellow color of cover 2 throws of her hair color

I'm with JR on this, it's always puzzled me why people put barcodes on their customs. I just tend to see them as space fillers.

Yeah, I can see that, I'm not gonna use barcodes anymore, unless I have them intergraded into my design
