I created this template in illustrator for those who don't like how the imandix distorts areas of the preview. I made it to work with covers that have a dimension of 3118 x 1748 although it should work with other sizes with experimentation. Unlike imandix, there is some manual work here but no need to worry - it doesn't take long.
How to Use:
- Firstly open up your blu-ray cover (which I assume is 3118 x 1748 px)
- Lower its size to 1003 (width) and 562 (height)
- Cut out the front, spine and back. This should be very easy if you have the spine guides in place and snap to guide enabled.
- Now open up the template you download from this thread and drag the three cut layers (front, spine and back) in.
- Take the cut out/front layer from your cover and move it into the 'front' folder. Make sure its sitting 2nd from the top in this folder.
- Right click on this cut out layer in the layers palette and select 'create clipping mask'
The image is not overlaying the front of the preview box. The reason I created the overall for the clipping mask is to maintain the rounded edges of the preview.
Simply repeat the above steps for the other 2 sides.
Check out the bottom attachment for an end result.
