Well, there's litterally no pics for this movie, except for an image which can be seen on the special features area which is 600x600. It is public domain in the US since it's a rip-off by the late Bruno Mattei (who sadly past back in May). All the shark footage is actually taken from all 4 Jaws films as well as The Last Shark, which was a Jaws rip-off that is public domain. So, I just need to get some stills off my Jaws DVDs of Bruce and his family members and I need one of those film strip thingys to place on the cover for decoration with the stills. And credits.

The file got corrupted in the GIMP after I put the titles in. GREAT! Now I have to restart it, unless you think what I've gotten so far is good?

I have never seen it and have never heard of it. It does intrigue me though.
Here are my recos (for the future)
The front image of jaws looks like it is off center. Need to be shifted to the right.
It may look neat if you had a gradation of dark read to the blue. This would simulate the depth of the water and blood in it! :)
The reverse looks a little empty. How about some credits?
Do not be locked into the templates provided. Go ahead and experiment with your own flavor. (special features could be floating around in the water???)

I set my comp's restore point back and everything seems to be okay but the damage has been done to the file so I restarted and everything seems fine.

Since the film is public domain, you can find clips of it on youtube. It has some impressive editing considering it's all footage from Jaws 1-4 and The Last Shark.

All right, I restarted and now I got some more work to do on it. I need to do some toning on the water, it's something very obvious you can tell I used two images on it.

Looking much better now, but you need to blend the front cover in with the spine, at the moment the front is slightly darker the the spine and back...

Is there a way to that on The Gimp?

Never used gimp so I am not sure. I think SW has used it before. You may want 2 hit him up with a PM

Unfortunately I have only used gimp a few times and not so familiar with the tools.

The general idea is there but the realism of the filtering light still needs to be accomplished.
As light penatrates deeper into water it begins to fade to darker blues and then eventually to black.
You will need to work in the red into the execution. So not only will you have to manage the blue to black but the shift of blue to red.
My suggestion is to create 2 seperate layers of gradation. One that goes from black to transparent then another that goes from black to dark red to light red then finally to transparent. Drop those over the main blue water and adjust the transparencies to get the best look.
I know tha you are using Gimp. In PS I would instead adjust the blend method of the layers to multiple that way the pic in the back bleeds through and the watery texture would come through. If Gimp has something like this I would suggest going the multiply blend method way.
