View Full Version : Cloverfield HDDVD Eastwood 11-18-2007, 02:06 AM Hey people, I'm almost done. I just need to get the credits. I downloaded the trailer to get it but I deleted it so I'm redownloading it to get it. gravital 11-18-2007, 04:15 AM Got a reco for ya. Try adjusting the color palatte of the metalic border (grays) to more of a blue green. The gray just doe snot look to match up with the artwork on the front. You can also carry over the colors to the back boxes and fonts. I think that by doing this the template will fit better with the image that you have. Other than that the rest looks fine to me. Eastwood 11-18-2007, 02:29 PM All righty. gravital 11-18-2007, 11:40 PM Now that looks good. I think that the color makes it all look complete and together. Eastwood 11-18-2007, 11:45 PM Thank you. shaunofthedead9 11-19-2007, 02:26 AM The only thing I'm not getting is all the open space on the back. Your synopsis is squashed in to the corner and you have nothing else except for the in your face picture. Also the credits look a little weird to me. You seem as if you are passionate about this movie so I would try to find some more pictures and try some new ideas on the back. The front image is so kick ass by the way. SilentWarrior 11-19-2007, 02:32 AM I agree with SOTD and think that maybe you experiment with the back some more. If you are going to stick with the back then i would recommend adjusting the tone of the image...because everything else has a green tone except for that image. Just a thought. Eastwood 11-19-2007, 05:09 AM All right, I'll put somemore pics in. gravital 11-19-2007, 05:05 PM And here i thought that pic was a placeholder for something else. I really have to start payin attention more. boneapart 11-19-2007, 05:28 PM I agree with SW. I think the back pic would look beter in Green matching the rest of the cover,,, Nice cover though... Eastwood 11-19-2007, 06:15 PM I changed the back pic and I went to the IMDB to get more info on the cast. SilentWarrior 11-22-2007, 05:20 AM Looks better Eastwood. I would personally recommend making the back image a greenish bluey tone because of its size. I have attached an example of what I mean. Eastwood 11-22-2007, 12:30 PM I'll get to it as soon as I can. Eastwood 12-06-2007, 07:21 AM Okay, I played around with it on the Gimp and apparently people in the film get infected by something so I played around and made them look a little sick. boneapart 12-06-2007, 07:15 PM Hi mate, I downloaded your cover and adjusted it for you... You can save this and still use it as your own... All I've done is help you outon the colour. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/7868/cloverfieldeditez5.jpg Click on the link and then save it if you want to use it. ulookingatme 12-06-2007, 07:41 PM Nice cover eastwood, and a very nice touch boney that looks good :thumbup; The only thing can add is the HD-DVD at the top of the spine looks a bit blurred and also the Paramount logo on the bottom left of the front. :) Eastwood 12-09-2007, 06:05 AM I think making it all green is wrong. It needs to keep some color which is why I did that whole making the people infected. gravital 12-10-2007, 02:20 AM In the end it is your cover and we can only reco what will make it look better. It is entirely up to you how the design and layout looks. In using the color version the image looks like it does not fit the cover. This is why the reco of changing the color to green was introduced. While the "infected version does have a faint link in color the filter used is making the image look low res. I believe this is why you are getting more suggestions to change the color to green. The image does not have to have the full green palatte. By using a color layer on top of the green layer and creativly making away certain parts you can get the same effect and the link in color will be enoughto make it look like it belongs. I hope that makes sense. SilentWarrior 12-10-2007, 09:10 AM If your happy with it then that's what's important. I did the greenish preview because I felt the color seemed out of place. This is just an idea and not necessarily how you envision your cover. :) |
