Sorry not sure if this is right place to post this but i saw 'helpdesk' and thought why not :D
I uploaded a few DVD covers last night but only one of them is showing, if the others are rejected are we told the reason why via PM or some other way?
Many Thanks

If your covers aren't showing, they most likely weren't accepted. I PM people who upload customs about the problems with the covers since a lot of effort has gone into making them. The main reasons scans aren't included are unflattened spines, washed out colors, excessive dust particles, incorrect resolution... among others. However your upload is appreciated :)

Thanks for the reply. :)
I know you must be busy but is there any chance you can PM as to why the last lot i uploaded was rejected please(5 i think), then that way i can maybe do something with them and also so i know where the problem lies for any others that i have and want to upload.
Many Thanks

I still haven't looked at 2 of yours. I'll let you know if there are any problems. I consider it a good thing that you're curious. I'll PM you with the reasons..

Another question here. When I scan the covers at 600DPI and then reduce them to the dimensions the size is sometimes like 4300kp, yet I notice that most of the ones that have been uploaded are only around 51 or so.
How do I maintain the ratio and still get the size down that small?
I am using Adobe Photoshop but can switch to Photoshop if that is easier to get covers published.

what!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are talking about reducing your actual file size...............your jpeg options are probably set at 11 or 12...................slide it down to 7.............on average that setting will take 5MB down to 1MB;)

I have a picture scaned at 600 and then reduced to 300 with a size of 3240x2187 reserve aspect ratio is check and I am using lanzos. The size of the file is 4362kb. I can find nowhere to reduce the image to a JPEG of 7 but when saving I used the maximum to insure the picture looked good.

Actually most covers are 3mb - 5mb in size range. I think you are looking at the size of the thumbnails. When I save in photoshop I set the compression to 11. Don't compress your file too much, you will lose quality. Try sliding the bar to 11 or 10 when saving in photoshop. I always use 11 however it depends on the amount image information in the file.

I uploaded that cover to my web site and it took two minutes to upload to the ftp.
I will post it on my forum and provide a link. :)

LOL nope that is a original. I don't know why it looks as bad as it does. Maybe because of the size.
I have Paintshop and will install that later in the day and try bringing the JP down to 7. We will see what happens.
