I have Gui4ffmpeg or something like that where I convert the VOB file to a video file and then I go to Movie Make and get a still from it. Now on a rare occasion the DVD can not be converted to a video file, and it sucks to be me right now because Casshern isn't doing it. So, does anyone know of a free and legal program to get stills?

Have you tried taking a still from your usual media player?
I can take stills from from WMP or PowerDVD, a good free program to get stills from is Videolan i use that one a lot also. :)

I find that PowerDVD is quite a good programme for capturing stills.

You should be able to see a little icon of a Camera on the control panel. Just click on this and it will save the screen to the Clipboard.

Is that on a newer version because mine doesn't have it. My PowerDVD is from 2003.

Yes! My Version is Version6, but Version5 also had the snapshot facility.

Any and all DVD media players for a compute will most likely have a capture frame option. WinDVD, Nero Showtime, InterActual, etc. They all should come with this feature. If it is not seen on the GUI then go to preferances and look around for something that says capture, snapshot, etc. If that still fails to reveal what you need, then open up the help file and search for what you need.
