Thanks to everyone who voted for the entries in this months Fuzion Cup competition. We had a nice amount of votes which really made things interesting. There was a clear favorite from the beginning. The Crow cover/label managed to win over 47% of the total votes. Well done to....

I was also wondering if it would interest anyone to know why and how certain things were done on the covers and labels. I
recall a few comments that that had questioned certain methods and thought things were done one way but in all truth turned out being done another. This can also be a learning platform for newer members that have an interest in designing their own covers... like the pros:lol::lol:

Excellent work by all 3 of you. I am new to the scene but I hope to learn to turn out top notch covers like those I have seen in the galleries.

I was also wondering if it would interest anyone to know why and how certain things were done on the covers and labels.
Sure, these were my comments if you would like to elaborate:
1. The Crow - great colors and layout, but a couple of things jump right out at me: The DVD logo on the front bottom right. Almost seems like it's not supposed to be there, but the artist either forgot to remove it or forgot to make it black. The synopsis doesn't really flow grammatically and I'm not keen on the way it overlap one of the pics on the back.

No probs bro. That was done intentionally. I am glad you reminded me about that... I did not want it to stick out as that would have looked horrible as the flame was in the background and a black DVD logo would have been noticeable. I usually tend to slightly hide the logo on the front. So with this one I adjusted the layer to a burn blend and then downed the opacity. This makes it visable to those that are looking for it but somewhat hidden to those that are not.
For the synopsis... What can I say. I took it straight off the scanned cover that I have. Yeah sure I retyped it and played around with kerning and line spacing. Other that those changes it is a mirror of its former self, word for word.
For the overlap of pics. I chose to do this to give it some more depth. yes we work in layers but from time to time I like to show it.
If anything was not to your liking spartanstew my apologies. My work can't appeal to everyone. By the way thanks for asking. It at least shows an interst in the piece.

Not a matter of liking or disliking mate. Just curious. A great cover either way.
