OK, I'm back. Death Proof is my new obsestion. Now I've had constructive criasisam in the past that most of the art I use is too low res. well this time that's what I was going for. The movie was made to look like a low buget movie from the '70's and that's how I wanted this to look. Verry low buget. The Cover is from a theater card. I used a diferent poster for the title logo (see the opening credits for the reason). The spine is the the spine from the acsual dvd. I didn't change it because I didn't think it needed changing. The back is also from the dvd, but I changed the tint so it mached the front more.

I like the concept and all, but consider this. What will it look like when it is printed? I just think you can still use high rez artwork for the front and then degrade it to fit the style of the movie without making it look too clean. Just my observation. Overall I really dig the front image, I haven't seen it used on the many Death Proof covers out there.

I am gonna have to agree with SOTD here. You can still have that low budget film look and still maintain a hi res cover. We do this with creases, grunge, over exposure, torn edges, etc. The back and the spine of this cover have these eleements. The front on the other hand just looks a blurry mess. If you want to keep that feel going how about a hi res image for the front and put a quad crease in in so it looks like it was folded up in somebody's pocket.

I like gravitals idea of the creases, it gives it the old movie poster look when they folded the posters instead of rolling them. :thumbup:gravital.

I've not found a larger version of the cover so I went in another direction.

I've wouldn't have used the back cover to the DVD. You know there is an error on it? They have Spanish Audio listed when there isn't any. So there's stickers slapped on the DVD Backcover stating No Spanish Auido, Spanish Subs Only or something.

I am uploading a high rez pic of the first concept you had at the beginning of the thread(Kurt Russell driving the car). Hopefully you can use it because it has potential. Also I know what you want to accomplish but with the back cover it just looks a bad photocopy. Keep working at it and you will find what you want to acheive.

Hey gaoutlaw, can you change these images to a preview size please. I would love to comment but the download for these takes a half hour for me and I just cant spare that time for a download. Not to mention that it will prevent premature downloads of your WIPs used as covers and save some space.

I could scan you the slip of paper for the back on the Best Buy version. They corrected it and it doesn't have the Spanish Audio listed.
