View Full Version : Greatest Movie of All Time? SilentWarrior 03-16-2007, 04:16 AM Just curious to know what all you movie enthusiasts consider to be the greatest movie/s of all times and why..:D dilla 04-02-2007, 04:43 PM Well how can you decide what is the best movie of all times :) We should look back on even B&W movies and rate them according to possibilities that were at hand at that time :) For me, movie list is huge, it's aproximatelly 20 movies that I really can't make out which one I like the most: 1. Usual Suspects 2. Braveheart 3. Saving Private Ryan 4. The Shawshank Redemption 5. The Green Mile 6. The Lord Of The Rings trilogy 7. Star Wars - sve 8. Nothing To Lose 9. Dreamcatcher 10. LA Confidential 11. The Insider 12. O Brother, Where Art Thou? 13. American History X 14. Starship Troopers (prvi dio samo) 15. Snatch 16. Fargo 17. The Schindler List 18. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 19. Bowling For Columbine 20. Buena Vista Social Club ulysses191 04-03-2007, 02:30 AM great list, surprised to see dreamcatcher on there, but i loved the movie also. listy77 05-06-2007, 06:48 PM A Clockwork Orange Stanley Kubrik always impresses me but this is my favorite film, i think its because of the way im always at cross feelings about it.. i love alex even though he is definately not a good guy, but still hes a cool character and i feel bad for him when eveything starts to go wrong.. plus i could quote from it all day "come and get one in yarbles.. if you've got any yarbles!" hehe, absolute classic :D jerry0127la 05-07-2007, 10:56 PM Hard to pick an absolute ALL TIME favorite. Below is my top 10 listed from oldest to most recent. 1968 - The Lion in Winter 1974 - Chinatown 1976 - Network 1982 - Sophie's Choice 1985 - The Color Purple 1986 - The Mission 1987 - Broadcast News 1989 - My Left Foot 1991 - The Silence of The Lambs 1999 - American Beauty aj_aziz 05-12-2007, 12:22 AM i reckon The Usual Suspects may peek others as its a great movie. I do love T2 though! poopsexy 05-12-2007, 02:00 AM having a favorite movie is like having a favorite time you've masturbated :biglaugh: Darwayth 05-12-2007, 04:30 AM Where in gods name is "Highlander" it of my favourite movies along with Serenity.... gravital 05-12-2007, 06:10 AM Wow. I love soooo many movies. It does change from time to time. I think that if I was really forced to pick. In no specific order. Jaws_ I like that it left an imprint in most peoples lives to include me. I mean come on. If I am alone in a pool I gotta take a second glance to make sure all is clear. It's really silly. I mean it's a freakin pool. The Story, plot, cinematography, script, acting crew, etc. all top notch. It has one of the most memorable monologues that I have heard. John Carpenter's The Thing_This has becom one of those recent favs that remeber from way back when, watch again and are still impressed with the quality. I think the score really enchances the film for me. It is so singular and adheres what is going on in the movie to your mind. George Romero's Dawn of the Dead_ Yeah I know cheesy flick with tons o gore. In truth I like all zombie flicks, but think that this is the best of the lot. While the remake was very close to it... It is not the origional. I like the feeling that it gives you as you watch it. You are watching the world flicker away and there is not much that you can do about it aside from surviving as long as you can. Okay so those are all pretty much horror movies. Does that mean that I only like those types. Not really. As I said before I love so many and I could spend all year conveying those that I do like and why. I will cut that down to a varied list. Again in no specific order. Gladiator Fire and Ice Spirited Away Legend The Rocky Horror Picture Show Fallen 40 yr old Virgin Spies Like Us 3 Amigos See this is not working 1 leads to another through actors. I think a better ? would be movies we hate and why. I got 2 right off the bat. Punch Drunk Love-I am still trying to figure out what it was about but am afraid it will suck away another 2 hrs. of my life force so I will not watch it again Nacho Libre-The only thing funny about the film was how unfunny it was. J0nn0 05-12-2007, 08:49 AM My 3 favourites of all time are..... Jaws:The first movie i ever saw a the cinema(yes i am that old!)and to me, it is still an amazing movie.I still watch it now. It is not only historical, but it left me very humble and awe struck to see what this particular ethnic group of people went through and to think that it could happen again.
