It might actually be better than the first. Slater dropped out and the role of Edward Carnby went to Rick Yune, which is an odd recasting choice. Scheerer and Roesch who wrote the first Alone in the Dark that Uwe Boll directed is writing and directing.

But, I'm confused about Carnby's role in the film since it was stated in he's in a "dream state".
