Eastwood 08-26-2007, 09:38 AM Well, since no one has PhotoStudio does anyone know of any free and legal image editing programs? J0nn0 08-26-2007, 11:25 AM Bring out The Gimp........... The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/about/) SilentWarrior 08-26-2007, 11:39 AM :whs: I have used GIMP on UNIX and its pretty much just like photoshop if you ask me and FREE. The user interface is where the program lacks, but its all about what it can do at the end of the day. Eastwood 08-26-2007, 10:53 PM Can it open .psd files? SilentWarrior 08-26-2007, 11:58 PM Yes it can. Eastwood 08-27-2007, 02:02 AM Thank you, I'll download it. EDIT: How do I download for PC, it's site confusing me. J0nn0 08-27-2007, 07:31 PM Thank you, I'll download it. EDIT: How do I download for PC, it's site confusing me. Go HERE (http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html) to download the pre-compiled version. You'll also need the GTK runtime environment, also available on the same page. Eastwood 08-28-2007, 03:16 AM Thanks. If there's any problems, I'll ask around. Eastwood 08-30-2007, 02:20 AM Okay, I got the GIMP working and everything but in the DVD templates I can edit the titles where it's like MGM Presents "WHATEVER THIS FILM IS" John Doe Directed By John Doe etc. How do I edit that since it should be text? SilentWarrior 08-30-2007, 03:46 AM You mean the credits? If so you can download a credit fonts in the credit forum. Eastwood 08-30-2007, 05:10 AM Okay, I'll hit that place up. Sucks I can edit it from on the screen. I liked the set up on the MGM Template. EDIT: Yeah this is how I'm doing it. Since I'm not that great at using the GIMP. Right now as a test I'm doing a cover for Blades of Glory. I found the poster image and a very hq wall paper of Ferrell and Heder as the back cover. Then in the GIMP I'm going to past the template over it. I'll post some stills in Work In Progress section later, I'm about to head out and watch Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Peace out. gravital 08-30-2007, 09:17 PM Meaning you are gong to have to recreate the credits. However if the template you are using has an editable layer of text then... If you where in photoshop you would just double click the layer by the font icon. I am not sure how the GIMP works. |
