Just signed up, and had a look through the search function, but couldnt find any threads on this already.

anyone got recommendations for a printer to go for when printing labels for dvds? Ideally under under ?150/$300ish. Cheers in advance.

I know people use epson r300, r380, rx580 and there are other models. Canon's MP series also print to disc. I cannot comment on the quality of any of these as I have not used them.

Never owned an Epson. I have had a Canon or two. I really do not like them. The quality is good but they do not age well. HP printers to date are my most favorite. Priced well, quality is excellent, last the test of time, and are easily adjusted settings.

My opinions is the same as yours Gravital. I have discussed about my problems with epson printers in another thread. I have never been disappointed by HP, the quality is great and the price is right...so to speak.

cheers for the advice guys. Any particular recommendations on the HP side?

Currently looking at the epson r265 or 360, so just gonna look on amazon at what HP offer. Thanks for the help.

Still having with my black INK on my Epson R300, tried cleaning it several times but have had no joy, i can still print out the odd document if i choose a colour closest to black!! LOL :D

Have been looking at either Cannon or HP for my next one but have you ever tried asking a sales assistant in an electrical store for advice :omg: They are worse then useless!!!!!!!

All i need to is a decent printer that can also print to disc, i dont need one that scans/faxes/copies or make the tea..........actually maybe thats not a bad idea :D

Now i know SW likes the HP but doesnt print to disc( why is that do you have aseperate printer for discs or just dont print to them?)
What HP ones do you have gravital and do you print to disc?

Also one where the Ink isnt the same price as a small 2-bedroom apartment!

Wheres good place to buy ink, i used to use the non-official ink and sure that maybe a reason why my Epson has gone south!

I only have one HP printer as of right now. It is back in N Carolina sitting on top of many many boxes. So I am unsure which one specifically it is. As for printing to disc. I do not print to discs. Te only way I was familiar with was from printer to stcky label to disc. However, that method is horrible and causes problems with disc rotation and bubbles after a while, etc, etc, etc. I am unsure of the print directly to disc method. As I have never done it. Maybe one of our more familiar with the deal member could explain...

As for the ink. To tell the truth it is all expensive no matter where you go. To save money you could try purchase the reused/refilled cartridges. I had a bad experience with these once before and just fork over the cash for the real deal (but always recycle used ones) :).
