..........how to make a spanning spine set, and can describe it in detail but for simple folk like me!
I'm sure i've seen a detailed tutorial on a website somewhere, but can't remember where...

This is how I do it...

I always leave the spines until the end. I design a template for the spines and I work on them from there. I have attached a spine template I have used which is for 6 standard covers and includes guides. With the the template you can add all the titles, logos, images etc. Once done grab the marquee tool, select along the guides for each spine, and copy merged. Then simply paste each spine into each cover...

This is how I have always done it.
