Hi ehock71. You are right, the designers on this site are very talented and its great that they share their work with others.
In terms of making your own covers, you will fond that most people use photoshop.
There are templates in the 'tools of the trade' which have all the elements, from the spine to logos which makes creating a cover a lot easier.
Finding images to use for your cover can sometimes be difficult because they need to be higher quality to use on covers. You can use google and yahoo image search as a start but there are many other sources. I believe someone has posted a thread in the tools of the trade forum which includes various sources for images.

:welcome:Hello Silent Warrior
Thank you for all the helpful info. I've heard Photoshop is the preferred image creating / mastering software of choice for many who have perfected the craft of making professional custom movie covers. Would you happen to know which version is the best. Also, to download a cover, how do you do that? I ask because it seems that copy and paste doesn't appear to capture the covers picture quality as clear? Can you post retail covers to the site that are not already posted. Thanks again for all your help.::)

The newest version of adobe Photoshop is creative suite 3 (CS3). In terms of downloading the covers...once you click on the small thumbnail it will take you to a larger preview. Clicking on the larger preview will then open the full sized cover in a new window/ tab. Once the full sized cover has loaded, right click on the image and select 'save image as'.
Any member can upload covers which are not already in the gallery. However the covers are first approved by a member of staff to determine if the covers meet the standards as this is a high quality cover site.
